Phnom Penh – Siem Reap

Day 1

Arrival – phnom penh

Transfer from Phnom Penh International airport to hotel.

Phnom Penh city tour including the National Museum, Silver Pagoda and Royal Palace.

Note:  During the visit of RoyalPalace – visitors should wear shirts or blouse covering shoulders and arms and long skirts or trousers covering legs (no miniskirt or short trousers).

Dinner at Indian restaurant

Accommodation at hotel.

Day 2

Phnom penh – siem reap  [b/l/d]

Breakfast at hotel.

Transfer to the domestic airport for flight to Siem Reap.

Visit the South Gate of Angkor Thom, Bayon, Royal Enclosure, Phimeanakas, Elephant Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King.

Lunch at local Indian restaurant

Discover Angkor Wat until sunset.

Note: During the visit of the Bakan tower of Angkor Wat temple, visitors are required to wear a proper attire, covering shoulders and knees as this temple is still considered as a sacred site (no short, miniskirt or short trousers). Children under twelve years old are not allowed to climb up this tower. It will be closed on the Buddhist Sabbath Days, the Buddhist religious days, four days a month in accordance with the Lunar Calendar.

Option 1: Angkor National Museum

Option 2: Angkor Gondola Tour (around 1 hour)

Angkor Gondola is a unique Khmer traditional boat service located by the South Gate of Angkor Thom on a small baray, a type of reservoir typical of ancient Khmer water management. Enjoy gliding gently along, as the sun sets over the gate of Angkor Thom. If you like to, there will be a bit of trekking up to the top of the gate to the historical ruins of Prasart Chrung and here is also the sunset viewpoint where the rest of the trip can be enjoyed just chilling out.

Option 3: The Cambodian Circus show, now coming to Siem Reap / Angkor

Day 3

Breakfast at hotel.

Visit of Angkor Wat & Ta Prohm temple.

Angkor Wat, the Cambodia’s ancient temple city is one of the wonders of the oriental world. Masterpieces of decorative details as well as of architectural style, its awe-inspiring ruins survive as testament to the spectacular achievements of Southeast Asia’s greatest civilization.

Visit of Les Artisans d’Angkor and local market.

Les Artisans d’Angkor provides training to young Cambodians in an effort to revive the ancient Khmer traditions of stone carving and wood sculpting. Stroll around the local market.

Dinner with Apsara Dance Show at local restaurant.

Option 4:        A Green Day in Angkor

With climate change and other environmental issues looming large, Asian Trails points the way and seeks to limit the travel’s impact on the environment. To reduce carbon emission and to help to turn travel green we encourage you to leave your petrol-driven vehicle behind for just one day and visit the AngkorArchaeologicalPark with a battery car instead. These new electric cars are not dependent on gasoline and significantly reduce the amount of noise and CO2 released into the atmosphere.  You will be picked up and dropped off again at your hotel. Option 6:      Angkor Night Market

The first, best and currently the only true night market in Siem Reap. Located in the heart of town, the Angkor Night Market opens in the mid-afternoon and stays open until at least midnight. The Market harbors more than 100 shops and stalls offering souvenirs, handicrafts, clothes, books, DVDs, electronics, jewelry, Khmer artifacts and there even are a travel agent and a 3D movies theater as well…The shopping atmosphere is peaceful and relaxing.

Day 4

Siem reap – departure  [b/l/-]

Breakfast at hotel.

Visit Les Senteurs d’Angkor on your way to the airport for some last minute shopping for your friends and relatives, as this is a Community Project allowing Cambodian women a staedy activity to alleviate their family from the cycle of poverty.

Enjoy the boat trip on the Tonle Sap Lake and visit the floating villages.

We don’t recommend the boat trip to the Tonle Sap Lake during the dry season from March to July due to the low water level. We will offer the visit of Silk Farm of Puok instead.

Transfer to Siem Reap airport for departure flight to other destination.
